(available in Mornington)
The first class for both these programs are owners only, so dogs must be left at home for the first session.
The Success Program (18 week course)
Owners only class focusing on learning theory, and clicker training
The first eight weeks of the program focuses on teaching owners how to train their dogs to be calm and attentive around distractions, and respond to training cues: sit, look, come, drop, stand, stay, wait, walk nicely, go to your mat. Hand signals and fading the lure are also addressed.
These sessions can be used on a casual basis. During these classes we teach you to help your dogs be calm and relaxed around a variety of different breeds, by learning to walk together and come when called reliably. We aim at proofing all behaviours learnt, completely fading the lure, generalising behaviours, and creating greater reliability under distractions. We also teach you to train your dog new tricks and add mini agility exercises into their basic routine. Handling skills and desensitising to vet visits are also trained.
The Basic Program (8 week course)
Owners only class focusing on learning theory and the technique reward marking which enables us to remove rewards, and train behaviours that are unable to be cued.
An intensive seven week program focused on teaching your dog to be calm and attentive around distractions and responsive to the basic cues: sit, look, drop, stand, come, stay, wait, walk nicely go to your mat.
Our casual class is aimed at owners who have completed the Combination or Basic Program. The class is conducted at 4.15pm Saturday afternoons and allows you to attend casually in order to refine your dogs skills and keep socialising them appropriately. Each week different exercises are practiced and they include the basic cues, trick training, socialisation and the recall, mini agility and everyday life skills such as desensitisation to handling for the vet clinic.
